Are you visiting St. Croix aboard a cruise ship? You definitely won’t want to miss out on experiencing our beautiful underwater environment! If you enjoy snorkeling and swimming in the ocean, then a Discover Scuba Dive is not to be missed! Due to U.S. Department of Homeland Security regulations, no scuba diving is allowed at the Pier while a cruise ship is in port, however we can still offer Discover Scuba Diving aboard our afternoon boat if you would like to explore one of our many colorful and life-filled reefs. Scuba certified friends and family members can even sign up to dive with you!
This half-day adventure begins at our dive shop at 12:30 PM, where you meet your Diving Instructor, go over the basics of diving, watch a short educational video, and then head off to join our afternoon boat. Your instructor will have you practice a few basic scuba skills while you hold a secure line attached to the boat. Once you are ready, you will slowly descend along that line to the shallow reef below. Certified divers can sign up to join a discover diver as a 1-tank boat dive. A variety of Caribbean sea life make their homes on our beautiful reefs. Besides gorgeous coral and sponges, you may see Angelfish, Cleaner Shrimp, Damselfish, Moray Eels, or even Sea Turtles! Average depth of the reef dive is 30 feet and the boat returns to the cruise ship pier around 3:00 PM. We provide all the gear, just don’t forget to bring your bathing suit and a towel.
Prerequisites: Advance reservations are required. Participants must be at least 10 years old, and class size is limited to four divers per instructor. If certified divers sign up to accompany discover divers, they will also count toward this four diver maximum. Keep in mind that you will want to be in reasonable good physical health and feel comfortable swimming in open water.
Cost: $120 per person and includes all diving equipment.
